Disney is exploring avenues to enter the sports betting space.

The House of Mouse reportedly modeling several consumer facing strategies that would allow for the roll-out of a new gambling product without tarnishing their family friendly brand.

Of course, we’ve seen this strategy from Disney before; back in 1989, Michael Eisner introduced Hollywood Pictures so that the company could produce films for a mature audience.

There’s heavy speculation that the sports marketing agency Endeavor – formerly William Morris – IMG – could file for an IPO in 2019.

That’s not an indication that the company is struggling though.

After investing $4 billion on the UFC, $1 billion on Serie A rights and $150 million to acquire NeuLion’s OTT technology, the company simply needs the cash to pursue additional acquisitions and to fund their growth initiatives.
