Remember when it was a big deal that Tony Romo, Quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys was dating singer Jessica Simpson? Remember when the fans cut out paper images of Jessica’s face to taunt Romo during home games? Remember how they thought he would be so distracted by her presence that he wouldn’t even be able to play football?! Gasp!
Fast forward to 2018 and there’s a similar situation that faces the Philadelphia 76ers. Enter Kendall Jenner and 76ers superstar, Ben Simmons. The two have been dating for a while and the fans think she is a distraction and a jinx.
Kendall was in the house watching the team at the Wells Fargo Center when the Sixers lost their first home game of the season.
Taking away from having a home court advantage, fans have started a petition.
Considering the loss came against the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia fans reacted by venting on social media and starting a Change.org petition to ban Jenner from the Wells Fargo Center.
“If the Jenner/Kardashian family has any shred of decency left, Kendall will never again show her face at the Wells Fargo Center,” according to the petition. “The absence of Jenner, would return the home court advantage the Sixers have garnered since March of last year. A 20 game home regular season win streak has been snapped, Ben Simmons’ career is in jeopardy, and an innocent man in Jimmy Butler is injured. The madness must stop. BAN KENDALL JENNER FROM THE WELLS FARGO CENTER.”
As of now, more than 6,500 people have signed the petition.
